Model reveals wedding plans with Bondi Sands founder

Model and podcaster Tess Shanahan is set to marry Bondi Sands co-founder Shaun Wilson in a luxurious destination wedding, with 120 guests and their daughter Romee by their side.

Podcaster and model Tess Shanahan is preparing to walk down the aisle, opening up about her upcoming wedding to one of Australia’s most successful entrepreneurs.

Shanahan is set to marry Bondi Sands co-founder Shaun Wilson in September, and is most excited about sharing the same last name as their young daughter, Romee.

Wilson sold the self-tanning brand to Japanese beauty giant Kao Corporation in August 2023, in a deal estimated to be worth $450 million.

The pair have been engaged since July 2023, and with the big day fast approaching, Shanahan has shared official plans with The Daily Telegraph.

“It’s a destination wedding,” Shanahan said.

“It’s not Europe, not Australia and I would say it’s one of Shaun and my favourite locations.”

Together for five years after meeting at a Bondi Sands event pre-pandemic, the couple are preparing for a three-day wedding celebration with 120 guests.

“We both love events, so for us, yes it’s about celebrating our love, but it’s also about bringing together all of our family and friends and giving them a really good experience,” Shanahan said.

“We’ve planned three major, very different kinds of events for each day and we just love the creative side of it. So it’s been really fun and obviously, a lot of work.”

Shanahan, who recently signed with IMG Models and friend of the brand SABEN, now stocked in NAGNATA and David Jones boutiques, balances her work-from-home lifestyle with motherhood and wedding prep.

“I work from home a lot which is great,” she said.

“I love that I’ve got a home studio now and then in between that just being a mama and wedding planning. Trying to do all the things, getting glowing and fit and all of it.”

As for Wilson, life after Bondi Sands has meant more time with family and a new business venture on the horizon.

“He’s home a lot, which is awesome,” Shanahan said.

“I feel like it’s just allowed him to get such a beautiful bond with Romee, which is so nice. We just feel very lucky that he gets that extra time with her.

“With his entrepreneur mindset … next year, he’s looking at launching his own private equity firm.”

The self proclaimed “handbag girly,” is all for SABEN’s practical handbags as a mother.

“I love a big oversized handbag because I feel like I’m always trailing around so much stuff,” she said.

“The Knox shoulder bag just fits so much stuff in there, and all the baby things. I just feel like they’re such good quality, and they have really cool styles and shapes.”
