Ever dreamt of hiding your alcohol in your tea cup?

Sydney’s premiere cocktail bar Maybe Sammy is allowing you to do just that, serving up cocktails fit for tea time.

The Rocks bar, which was named one of the 50 best in the world in 2021, has released a new cocktail menu named after 12 women.

The Stardust menu took six months to create and sees the bar’s Rat Pack-inspired menu being replaced by those of artistic doyennes like Marilyn Monroe, Cher and Janis Joplin.

The National Velvet cocktail was inspired by screen great Elizabeth Taylor.

Maybe Sammy owner Martin Hudak said it “combines Elizabeth Taylor’s love of mimosas for breakfast by serving it in a teacup and her love of diamonds through a diamond-shaped ice cube.”

Meanwhile, the Flower In The Sun cocktail was inspired by singer Joplin and is served in a glass representing the sun. Cher fans will also get to try a cocktail served in a disco ball.

Hudak said he wanted to continue the legacy of these women through the cocktails.

“At Maybe Sammy we’re not focused on whether a cocktail has a feminine or masculine identity, we’ve moved beyond that. We want to create drinks that are delicious, fun, have universal appeal and are memorable,” he said.

“Our number one priority is to create fun, entertaining, engaging experiences for our guests plus we also want to show the world Maybe Sammy is more inspired than ever.”

Each cocktail is also accompanied by an artwork by Clementine Roslund and a social media filter.

The filters will be accessed by a QR code that can be found next to each of the cocktails in the Stardust menu.
