It’s been a year since former Sydney property developer-turned-convicted drug dealer Matthew Doyle was released from prison, and it looks like life’s beginning to look normal once again.
The father of one, who under his bail conditions can only leave his Burraneer home in Sutherland shire for work, exercise or medical appointments, looks to have been granted the right to attend his brother Shane Doyle’s wedding to Georgia Crome in Newport on Sydney’s northern beaches last month.
His loyal wife, Kelsea Doyle, was PR and marketing specialist Georgia’s bridesmaid, while Matthew sat in the front row while the pair tied the knot, with the couple’s young son on his lap.
Both Matthew and Kelsea have kept a low profile since their world was turned upside down in 2019, when he was arrested while waiting to collect what he thought was a shipment of up to 300kg of cocaine at a warehouse in Marrickville.
After spending almost five years in prison, Doyle and his wife, who stood by and supported her husband throughout the entire ordeal, are living a quiet life in south Sydney, making up for lost time and concentrating on raising their young son.
It is believed Doyle is still wearing a tracking device, which has previously been seen attached to his left ankle.
Doyle was jailed over an attempt to smuggle $85 million worth of cocaine into Australia.
He was sentenced to a minimum of five years behind bars in 2020 after he pleaded guilty to commercial drug supply and dealing with proceeds of crime.
