“Sophs and my story is our story. I’m sorry to Australia but the reality is most of these stories will finish with the couple not together,” the 45-year-old said.

“I agree with (The Bachelor’s) Tim Robards and his opinion that they’re like arranged marriages.

“I saw enough in Soph in 10 minutes when I first met her to go on the show.

“I’ve got no regrets as I’ve got a friend for life ... I think Soph and I were meant to be mates like a fate thing.

“Sadly for me I may have had the love of my life in my ex wife and wasted it but I’ll keep searching.

“Now I’d like to fade out but I’ll serve anyone in Australia a beer if they ever want to pop in.”

Laundy denied reports from a magazine source that he is shopping his “tell-all” story around, saying he had been “hounded every day” and turned down offers.

“That is the last thing I would do,” he said.

The couple were plagued by rumours they had split up even before Monk chose the father of four on last year’s season of The Bachelorette.
