As Sophie Monk prepares to tie the knot with her fiancé Joshua Gross, the TV host has revealed her relief at having found love with someone who’s not in the industry.

Like every bride getting married during the Covid-19 pandemic, the former Bardot singer has had to rethink her big day and she and Gross have opted for an intimate wedding ceremony with no guests.

“I think it’s healthy to have different walks of life, so you’re not living and breathing your own jobs … it’s great,” she told Confidential.

“We’ve discussed (the wedding), I think we’re just going to do it by ourselves — just him and I. Because it’s just too hard anyway through the pandemic and it’s about us anyway.

“I naturally perform if we have people there, I won’t be focused. We’ll just make it really intimate and take some really nice photos and enjoy it with no pressure.”

Monk, 41, met the neurosurgical robotics consultant, 42, on a flight in 2018 following her public split from Bachelorette winner Stu Laundy.

The pair got engaged on Christmas Day last year and celebrated their engagement with loved ones at her $2.25 million hinterland home in Matcham.

Monk is among iconic celebrities who have recently partnered with Amazon to teach its virtual assistant Alexa unique Aussie vernacular and phrases.

“It’s no secret that I’m a self-confessed bogan, but I honestly love the way us Aussies talk, it’s unlike anywhere else … I wouldn’t change it for the world. It makes me feel at home,” she said.
