She is planning to get married this year and is hosting the revamped Beauty and the Geek reality show — and now Sophie Monk hopes to start a family with fiance Joshua Gross.

A 41, Sophie Monk says she’s hopeful of one day bearing children with fiance Joshua Gross.

Monk has long spoken of her desire to become a mother but has in the past lamented the fact she always struggled to find the right partner.

Now, with a wedding in the works for this year, Monk is ready.

“We would love a family if we are lucky enough,” Monk told The Sunday Telegraph.

“You just never know but we would love to.”

Monk and Gross met mid air, sat next to each other on a flight as she flew home to Australia after shooting a season of Love Island in Spain. It was a time in her life that Monk had all but given up on finding love.

“It is ironic, it comes when you least expect it,” she said.

“I had completely given up. I just attracted the wrong guys I think. And mixing in very industry kind of circles so meeting him on a plane randomly, our worlds probably wouldn’t have collided any other way. We just kind of got lucky.”

The couple hosted an engagement party earlier this year but are yet to set a date for their nuptials.

“It is just so up in the air at the moment with everything (Covid) going on,” she said.

“It is probably just safer to do it at home, and go low key. If I have a crowd there I naturally have to perform and entertain everyone.

“We will just keep it about him and I, really simple and get some nice photos. I can organise something 11th hour so it will be this year for sure.”

Monk is now helping others find love as host of the revamped Beauty and the Geek that launches on Sunday at 7pm on Nine.

“In the early days of dating, you have got to be yourself,” she said.

“You have to say what you want and stand up for yourself because I tend to be walked over in general. Even though I act tough, I am not really. I have learnt a lot through doing this show.”
