Savvy Snackers finds celebrity fans including Kyly Clarke and Kara Ryan

A businesses which delivers snack packs to your door has been a huge hit with celebrities including Kyly Clarke and Kara Ryan.

Launching a new business during lockdown is no easy task but for one Inner West couple, the hard work is paying off.

After advertising manager, Kimberley Hall, 31, lost her job due to the Covid-19 pandemic, she decided to think outside the box and start her own business Savvy Snackers - an online snack pack and treat supplier - with boyfriend Bala Walsh, 23 and within the first month they had more than 500 orders.

“We just thought this idea would go well if we put everything into it,” said Hall.

“Who doesn’t like snacks delivered to them in a themed, fun box. Of course, the lockdown happening just after we launched has helped, so many people have seen it as the perfect care package to send when you’re stuck at home and want to connect with the family, friends and workmates you’re missing. We are just so happy we can bring some positivity to people during a super challenging time.”

Since launching in June, they have had more than 600 orders, with major clients including Cricket Australia.

The snack packs, which are priced from $65 per box, have been a huge hit with celebrities including Kyly Clarke and Kara Ryan.

“It’s super exciting seeing stories and posts from names with such massive influence that we actually enjoy following ourselves, sharing our product and genuinely loving it,” Walsh said.

“It’s so overwhelming and the support has been incredible, especially in such difficult times for businesses.”

Walsh, who also works a 9-5 marketing job, said working extra hours to support the business during the pandemic has been worth it.

“Every day we pack orders up until 1am and have them sent out the following morning,” he said.

“It’s been so cool to see the business grow so fast, we feel super lucky that during such a tough time for Australia that we have been able to find a way to keep working, especially after a couple of setbacks.”

The pair have attributed their rapid growth to their social media-based marketing strategy.

“Having come from marketing and operations backgrounds, we’ve taken what we’ve learnt from previous jobs and put it into action with Savvy Snackers,” Hall said.

“Utilising Instagram influencers to help promote our brand has been a huge success – it’s so great to see so many big names with huge influence across these channels supporting small businesses... Another thing we do is really engage with our audience across Instagram and Facebook – weekly giveaways has been a huge hit.”
