Sam Burgess has gone public with a new mystery woman, hairdresser Lucy Graham.
The former Rabbitohs footballer appeared smitten as he walked the red carpet in Rome for close mate Russell Crowe’s new film, Poker Face.
It is the first big public showing for Burgess since his messy split from ex-wife Phoebe with whom he has two young children.
Burgess, 33, has been in the headlines more for his personal life than his professional career since the split with his journalist ex.
The pair were married in 2015 and separated three years later.
Burgess was stood down from his position as an assistant coach at the Rabbitoh in October 2020 after his ex-wife made allegations of domestic violence and drug use.
He denied all allegations and wrongdoing with police subsequently clearing Burgess following a year-long investigation.
In March, the NRL finalised a separate integrity unit investigation and issued him with a three-month suspension and $30,000 fine.
In May last year, he was charged with driving without a licence, using an unregistered vehicle and drug driving. He escaped without having a conviction recorded against his name.
His new girlfriend meanwhile is from Leeds in the UK, where she works as a hairdresser specialising in extensions at Tint salon and runs her own fashion business, Sentenced.
Burgess has been working for Crowe on and off for the past couple of years and was photographed on set of his new movie, The Pope’s Exorcist.
Crowe also attended with his girlfriend, Britney Theriot, alongside stars Liam Hemsworth and Elsa Pataky.
The film was shot in Sydney through the pandemic.
