Married At First Sight’s runaway groom has returned to screens after five days MIA and viewers are furious at how he handled the situation.
Tradie and model Sam Ball bailed on his new wife Elizabeth Sobinoff after their first night of “marriage” last week, saying his ex-girlfriend’s mother had died and he had to get on a flight to New Zealand for the funeral.

Tonight, as the 10 couples met each other for the first time, Ball returned to the shock of his wife, considering he had not contacted her in the five days he was gone.
But instead of apologising for leaving Sobinoff in the lurch, he smirked and told her to relax.
“You’re so angry, just relax, no need to be angry,” he told his fuming wife.
Chatting later with fellow groom Mike Gunner, Ball continued to dig his grave saying that men were more “logical” than women because they don’t get emotional.
This is just the latest in a string of disrespectful actions on Ball’s behalf.
In the episode where he first met Sobinoff he said he’d “never really dated girls as big as Elizabeth in the past”, referring to her weight.
He laughed and said he’d have to get her up early to go running once they were married.
Their drama took some of the heat off 29-year old virgin Matthew Bennett, who is now an ex-virgin after losing his virginity on the show last night.
The videographer was so ridden with anxiety he was physically sick and needed to be treated at the nearest emergency room.
While he and wife Lauren Huntriss didn’t consummate their marriage on camera, producers left the mics on as the shot cut away and subtitled with moans and groans and Huntriss saying “Oh that feels so good”.
Bennett was previously grilled by the group of guys about his sexual experience, being forced to admit he was in fact a virgin.
At the dinner party he was pressed again, visibly uncomfortable, but this time was not pressured into revealing the intimate details.
