Rhyce from MAFS addresses violence against women claims

Exclusive: Less than one week on from allegations of violence against women surfacing, further claims against Married At First Sight’s “hot brother” Rhyce Power, have emerged.

Speaking exclusively to News Corp this week, one woman said that on multiple occasions Mr Power took explicit photographs and videos of her during their relationship.

The footage, which has been seen by News Corp is accompanied by text messages in which Mr Power’s ex-girlfriend asks him to delete the content, saying “please get rid of these.”

Mr Power responds telling the woman, “There [sic] special to me … And there [sic] kinda hot … There [sic] of us and I like watching them.”

After breaking up with Mr Power, the woman told News Corp she was concerned that he would show the images and videos to others.

Mr Power has denied the claims that he took the explicit images. He also rejects the suggestion he refused to delete any sensitive content at the request by his ex-girlfriend.

Mr Power, a Melbourne-based tradie and male stripper, rose to fame last week when he appeared in Channel 9’s latest season of Married At First Sight on Tuesday night.

Initially, the women of Australia were quick to swoon over Mr Power, but by Thursday, it became known that the 27-year-old has an active Violence Restraining Order (VRO) out against him and multiple women had come forward with allegations of physical and emotional abuse against the former Perth resident.

He confirmed on KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O show that an ex-girlfriend had taken out a Violence Restraining Order against him in Western Australia last year.

“What happened was, me and my ex-girlfriend had a pretty toxic relationship towards the end of it. We both said a lot of things that we probably shouldn’t have said.

“No charges were laid because there was no proof or anything, it never happened, and then I was issued with a VRO (Violence Restraining Order).”

Mr Power said the incident took place “about six months ago” and he told the KIIS FM that he plans to go to court to try and get the order removed.

“I’m so far against abuse against women and men,” Mr Power said.

Mr Power also told 2Day FM’s Grant, Ed and Ash Show that since appearing on the show he has been approached by multiple producers to appear on an upcoming romantic reality series.

“I’ve had a couple of messages from a couple of TV shows,” Mr Power said.
