While Roxy Jacenko has shown an enormous amount of strength this year, getting through Christmas could be one of her hardest challenges yet.

While other families are getting into the festive season with elaborate Christmas trees and letters to Santa, Roxy Jacenko is keeping the celebrations to a minimum.

The famous PR guru, 36, describes 2016 as “tumultuous” following her husband Oliver Curtis being sentenced to two years in prison for insider trading, and undergoing treatment for a shock breast cancer diagnosis.

And, although the Sweaty Betty queen has shown an enormous amount of strength while living out some of her toughest days in the public eye – getting through Christmas, could be one of her hardest challenges yet.

“My mum said to me the other day, ‘I think I’m going to go and get a Christmas tree.’ And I said, “You can’t, because I told Pixie and Hunter their father would be home for Christmas,” the blonde businesswoman told WHO Magazine, admitting that when her husband was originally sentenced, Christmas seemed “so far away”.

The Sydney based mum of Pixie, 5, and Hunter, 2, also told the publication that her daughter has had “terrible days” and misses her dad a lot.

“A five-year-old understands separation. A two-year-old doesn’t. Hunter has been incredible, but Pixie has had terrible days. We just try and make sure she’s busy all the time,” Jacenko confessed.

Earlier this year Jacenko opened up to KIIS FM about the fact that she’d lied to her children about Curtis’ return home.

“Well I think I was on the spot,” she admitted. “Christmas was the first thing I could think of…in hind sight it’s a bit of a problem,” she said, saying she may have to tell the children Oliver will remain in China longer.

“I’m very careful, my duty is to protect them.”

Despite the intense media spotlight, dealing with cancer and adjusting to life as a single mum, Jacenko hasn’t missed a beat, continuing to run her PR company, dine out at fancy restaurants, take up an impressive new fitness regime and continue with her famous elevator selfies.
