Roxy Jacenko says “yesterday was a seriously bad day,” following her controversial interview on last night’s 60 Minutes program.

Talking to KIIS FM’s Kyle and Jackie O this morning, the PR queen described the wait ahead of show as “the worst day yet,” admitting she had no idea how she would be portrayed.

“It was the unknown; you don’t know what happened with editing. 8.30 took so long to come around,” the Sweaty Betty owner told listeners, adding she put her children Pixie, 5, and Hunter, 2, to bed early and watched the interview with her mum by her side, which addressed her husband Oliver Curtis’ jail sentence and her breast cancer diagnosis.

“I high-fived myself after,” she said proudly, saying she hopes that by being open about her choice to have her tumour removed instead of getting a mastectomy “showed people you have to do what’s right for you”.

Again speaking candidly about her shock breast cancer diagnosis which came to light just weeks after her husband was jailed for insider trading, Roxy says that on Wednesday she’ll see an oncologist and then begin radiation for five weeks.

The entrepreneur still maintains those who think her health-scare was timed, are “sick”.

Speaking about why she did the interview, Roxy said, “F-you. No normal person can say ‘she’s lying’. It’s not a nice thing….there’s been amazing support but then there’s vile commentary. If someone is in strife you’re supposed to lend your support.”

The glamorous business woman also readdressed the fact that she’d lied to her children, telling them their father is in China and will be home for Christmas.

“Well I think I was on the spot,” she admitted. “Christmas was the first thing I could think of…in hind sight it’s a bit of a problem,” Roxy confessed saying she may have to tell the children Oliver will remain in China longer.

“I’m very careful, my duty is to protect them.”

One of the ways Roxy is “protecting” Pixie is not allowing her to take phone calls from her father, saying letting her chat to him was “the worst thing” she could have done”.

“She cried on the whole day after. . For her it was hard. I did again for her birthday and it was a disaster so I’m not going to do it any more”.

Hunter on the other hand is adjusting well to his father being behind bars, with Roxy saying they often chat.

And when it comes to Oliver himself, Roxy says he has a job as a clerk in an administration job, uses the gym often, and is doing well. She also says she deposits “buying money” for him and thinks he’ll purchase a doona next.

“He says everyone is really nice. He’s settled in as well as he can…he’s got a great cell mate — he likes his job. Probably good to have one or you stare at the walls all day.”

When it comes to life on the outside, she says when the time comes she expects her husband will just “slot back into work” however, it is clear she keeps things relatively separate.

“I don’t really get what he does, I’m not good with numbers.”

Naturally the question of conjugal visits arose with Kyle Sandilands pressing Roxy on how she spends her visiting time. The usually outspoken PR guru winced with shyness.

“No. I don’t know. It’s not something that’s crossed my mind. No I haven’t thought about it umm, worrying about that at the moment is not high on my agenda,” she said, adding that right now her focus is taking things one step at a time.
