Robyn Lawley believes her unremitting determination to call out the lack of diversity in the modelling industry may have jeopardised her career.
The mother-of-one, who last month slammed Victoria’s Secret for failing to cast a full-figured model in its annual runway show, said she realises being so outspoken might impact her global career.

“When I recently came out with the VS petition, I was concerned because the casting directors cast not only for VS, but for Ralph, Michael Kors, Ten Magazine and big shows,” The Bras N Things model said.
“These guys are big casting directors so models who cast for the VS show are also casting for a lot of other shows, so it is scary. Your hands are tied.
“Models usually don’t have a voice. I am trying to make companies embrace diversity and stop this silly nonsense of making girls starve.
“It isn’t necessary. It is 2018. People are genuinely starving in the world … and some people are choosing to starve.”
One lingerie company Lawley will praise, however, is Bras N Things, which stuck by her for its latest advertising campaign despite the scars from her recent fall following a seizure, being on full display.
“I was worried about shooting this campaign because of my scars after my accident, but they emailed my manager and said, ‘we love Robyn and we are always going to use her, even with her scars,’ ”
“It feels like they (Bras N Things) represent actual people who shop in their stores.
“It’s cool to see a lingerie company using real women … it is nice to have a company not Photoshop people. They keep it real.”
