HOLLYWOOD hunk Chris Hemsworth has snapped up another chunk of prime Byron Bay real estate — to give his family somewhere to stay while his mega-mansion is finished.

A Balinese-inspired house at Suffolk Park, which fronts Tallow Beach, was bought by Hemsworth and his wife Elsa Pataky for $4.3 million in July.

Neighbours have been entertained by a lavish Hamptons-style makeover complete with high-end security, masses of white paint and huge transplanted Canary Island date palms.

Suffolk Park is a quiet suburb popular with families seven kilometres south of Byron Bay.

Only last week did locals find out who was behind the high-end makeover, as the genetically gifted pair emerged onto the dog-friendly beach with their children India, 6, and twins Tristan and Sasha, 4, and their energetic labradoodle.

The family are staying in the new digs until their mega-mansion at Seven Mile Beach in Broken Head is finished.

Rumour is his parents Leonie and Craig will move into Suffolk Park when the Broken Head mansion is complete.

The Broken Head compound, due for completion early next year, has been likened to a shopping centre due to its massive size. Aerial views of the complex show a 50m-pool overlooking the Pacific.

Construction began late last year after the existing eight-bedroom Balinese-style resort home, bought in 2014 for $7 million, was bulldozed to make way for the compound.

There will certainly be room for buddy Matt Damon and family to visit.

The Damons recently returned to the USA after a six-month stint renting next door to the old rental abode of the Hemsworths.

The Damon and Hemsworth kids attended the same small local community school.

The Australian actor, 35, who earned $64.5 million in 2018, recently told GQ Australia that he was uncomfortable with his wealth and he and his wife often talked about how to make sure their three children appreciate what they’ve got.

“I feel gross about it. I remember saving up for a surfboard when I was younger. The surfboard was 600 bucks and I saved up for a whole year … It taught me so many lessons about appreciation and working hard for something,” Hemsworth told the magazine, adding that he didn’t want his kids to “miss out on that joy”.

Photos taken last week on his new local beach show the Marvel star is no less human than other dog owners, picking up after his pooch’s doggie-doos.
