Model mum Rachael Finch says she made the right decision in having breast implants removed.

Marking a year since undergoing surgery, the 33-year-old went from a C-cup to an A-cup and says she feels healthier than ever.

“I feel different,” she wrote on Instagram.

“I feel confident that I made the right decision for my body. I feel free. I feel happy knowing that the way I look doesn’t define me as a person.”

Mother-of-two Finch is a household name thanks to representing Australia at Miss Universe in 2009.

She went on to build a small health and fitness empire as well as a successful TV hosting career.

Finch, who married Dancing With The Stars partner Michael Miziner in 2013, had breast enhancement surgery when she was 17.

She decided to remove the implants after she began feeling pain in her left breast around two and a half years go. At the time, she noticed both of her breasts looked different.

After being in and out of clinics for several months, an MRI finally revealed that she had a capsular contracture in her left breast, which can cause hardening and distortion of breast tissue.

“I feel grateful for the support around me,” she continued in the post, noting that she is often asked how she is feeling after the procedure.

“I feel workouts are lighter. I feel I breathe deeper. I feel a love for my body like I’ve never felt before. I feel peace. Remember there is no right or wrong. There is simply doing what is best for you and your body.”

In February last year, Finch slammed beauty standards and said women should not be defined by their physical appearance.

“Why should we let the size of our boobs determine how confident we are, how beautiful we are, who we are as a person?” she said on social media. “Like, this whole process has been this massive re-evaluation for me of worth and meaning and living into who you actually are versus your physical appearance and letting that define you. Like, it’s just been so incredible and I’m just so proud of my body and what it’s accomplished to be able to give birth to two children, breastfeed two of my angels and just live the life that it has so far.”
