You probably wouldn’t expect a politician and a beauty queen to have the same dress sense, but last night one of each stepped out in the exact same dress — and it’s not immediately clear who wore it best.
Former foreign minister Julie Bishop, 62, and former Miss World Australia Erin Holland, 30, both glittered in a royal blue Rachel Gilbert sequin dress, valued at $2500.
Bishop was at the delivery of the federal budget, while Holland was on the red carpet for the VIP opening of Saturday Night Fever at the Lyric Theatre.
Bishop was in the company of Prime Minister Scott Morrison, treasurer Josh Frydenberg and finance minister Mathias Cormann.
Holland walked the red carpet alongside Kerri-Anne Kennerley, Casey Donovan, John Paul Young and the who’s who of showbiz.
While internet trolls called Bishop “out of touch” for wearing the glam number, Holland said she had great taste.
“I had no idea until watching the morning news and got tagged in a couple of Instagram post of us both,” Holland said.
“Julie Bishop has great taste — Rachel Gilbert soul sisters.”
