Disco chic was the red carpet theme as some of Sydney’s top celebrity faces stepped out for the opening extravaganza of Saturday Night Fever.

With classic 70s hits like Stayin’ Alive, More Than A Woman and Disco Inferno featuring in the production, stars dressed up with flare for the occasion as the show kicked off for a season run at The Star’s Lyric Theatre on Tuesday night.

Among those to walk the red carpet were Danielle Cormack, Rodger Corser, Sam Frost, James Stewart, Casey Donovan, Erin Holland and Samantha Jade.

Saturday Night Fever is a musical based on the 1977 John Travolta film.

The show features Marcia Hines as The Diva of Disco at the club where charismatic Tony Manero (the Travolta character) blows the competition off the dance floor every Saturday night.

Manero is played by Euan Doidge, while former Australian Idol singer Paulini is one of four Star Vocalists who sing the Bee Gees disco hits from the film.

Timomatic, Natalie Conway, Bobby Fox and Melanie Hawkins are also in the production.
