Pip Edwards has teased the idea of a return to the decks.
The fashion designer and businesswoman was once a member of the Chicks On Decks DJ crew alongside the likes of Christine Centenera and Leah Simmons.
“I haven’t done that for a while,” Edwards told Confidential. “Would I make a comeback? Watch this space.”
The PE Nation co-founder has been a feature in Sydney’s social scene since the early 2000s.
“Back in the Ksubi days, when Bang Gang DJs was alive and thriving, the girlfriends of the boys got together and we all formed a girls DJ group called Chicks on Decks,” she said.
“There was about eight of us, and we used to do all of the fashion gigs.
“I lived through that period, when Sydney was a hot spot, which was exciting and I feel like it is coming back again.
“We have got some amazing musicians here doing things and they happen to be my mates.”
Edwards ex-partner Dan Single was a co-founder of Ksubi and a member of Gang Bang.
Many may not know she is actually a trained musician and sang on a number of tracks on Sneaky Sound System’s first album.
“It has got to scream of me but I’ve always had that thread, like I am actually a musician, whether it be piano, flute, musicianship, singing, I have done my grades, so there is that substance behind it,” said Edwards, who is also ambassador for the new Sonos Ace headphones.
“I did all of my grades by the time I was 16 so I am kind of pretty proficient in classical piano and that is where the musical ear comes from.
“I have actually been sitting back on the piano lately because I want to get my tinkle back. The raw side of music is what I’ve been missing.”
