Miranda Kerr on motherhood, mum-bods and marriage

Most mothers would be more than happy to flaunt their figure in a bikini if they looked like the former Victoria’s Secret beauty, however apparently Miranda Kerr thinks she’s lost her model bod.

If Miranda Kerr has a ‘mum-bod’, then god help the rest of us.

Most mothers would be more than happy to flaunt their figure in a bikini if they looked like the former Victoria’s Secret beauty, however apparently Kerr thinks she’s lost her model bod.

The 35-year-old mother-of-two has spoken about what she thinks of her physique, six months after the arrival of her second born son, Hart.

“It’s really important as women that we’re gentle with ourselves and don’t feel like we have to snap back into shape after a baby,” she told Marie Claire Magazine.

“It’s OK, I’ve got a mum-bod and it’s fine!”

“I don’t mind. It’s all part of it. I took nine months — well, 10 months — to grow a beautiful child and it might take 10 months to feel good in a swimsuit again. Or longer. Or never!”

The 5 ft 9 stunner also opened up about the impact the arrival of Hart has had on her eldest Flynn, whom she shares with actor Orlando Bloom.

“About a month after Hart was born, Flynn said to me, ‘Mum, I’m a little frustrated,’” she said.

“He said, ‘I know I was the one who wanted a baby brother — like, I know it was my idea … But I’m feeling a little frustrated that I don’t get as much time with you as I used to.’

I was like, ‘I know, but honey, you know it’s not going to be like this forever.’”

Despite feeling as though she has lost her trim, pre-baby figure and her eldest missing one-on-one time with his mum, Kerr is excited to add to her brood with husband, Snapchat founder Evan Spiegel.

However she denies she is pregnant for the third time.

“No, no, not right this second, but yeah, definitely at some point,” she says.

“I love being a mum. It’s just the most rewarding thing.”

While Kerr’s personal life is thriving, so too is her business, her first baby, skincare range KORA Organics.

Last month alone KORA Organics has launched in Canada via 70 Sephora Stores, Malaysia, Philippines and Germany, Spain, Italy, Poland and Austria and by end of year, will be in Italy, Austria, Poland and Netherlands.

However breaking into the US market has been a highlight for Kerr, who is considered one of our most successful Aussie exports.

“One of my biggest ‘pinch me’ moments would be launching into the US market last May in over 360 Sephora stores, and the incredible growth we’ve had in the past 18 months,” she said.

“KORA Organics has expanded from being in 300 retailers across Australia just 18 months ago, and by the end of 2018 we’ll be stocked and in more than 2,500 stores, across 25 countries.
“It’s a WOW moment for sure.”
