It comes after Barry, 69, was rushed to hospital in Sydney’s Eastern suburbs last week after being hit by a car on his way to work.

The TV presenter was riding his bike to work when the collision occurred and he sustained several injuries including a shattered pelvis which has left him unable to walk.

He is currently on the mend at Prince of Wales Hospital in Randwick.

“Sorry. No ⁦ @ABCmediawatch ⁩ for me this week. Broken hand and pelvis after a thoughtless driver backed into the road without looking and cleaned me up on my bike as I rode to work. Not sure when I’ll be good to go again. Soon, I hope,” he wrote.
