ABC’s Media Watch host Paul Barry tweets from hospital bed after car accident
An ABC host tweeted a picture from his hospital bed, detailing his horrible injuries after he was hit by a car while riding his bike.

The host of ABC’s Media Watch has tweeted a photo from a hospital bed after he was injured in a car accident.
Paul Barry wore a face mask and hospital gown in the picture and held up a bandaged hand.
“Broken hand and pelvis after a thoughtless driver backed into the road without looking and cleaned me up on my bike as I rode to work,” Mr Barry wrote.
Mr Barry, 69, said there would be no episode of Media Watch on Monday because of the incident.
He said he wasn’t sure when he would recover.
“Not sure when I’ll be good to go again. Soon, I hope,” he wrote.

In a follow-up tweet, Mr Barry thanked those who wished him well.
“Wow. Thanks for all the good wishes. I’m lucky. It could have been so much worse,” he wrote.
“Brain appears to be intact. And probably no long term damage.”
Mr Barry has kept Australian journalists on their toes as the host of Media Watch since 2013.
Prior to his full-time role leading the program, he was an award-winning investigative journalist.
