MAFS’ Domenica Calarco is in talks with lawyers to order cease and desist letters and explore defamation lawsuits against three of her former castmates.
The announcement of Calarco’s spin-off series, titled Dom’s Debrief, last week has reignited the seemingly never-ending drama surrounding the 2022 MAFS series.
“I don’t take the defaming language against me lightly at all,” Calarco told Confidential.
“It’s not about the language of ‘jealous’, but when it gets to the level of calling me ‘violent’ and ‘abusive’, it just needs to stop. Some of the language used against me (last week) was really defamatory against my character.
“People need to know that online hate is not ok and they are going to get held accountable for their words and their actions.”
In particular, Calarco takes issue with Olivia Frazer, Jessica Seracino and Carolina Santos. Santos and Jackson Leonie commented on the announcement post that they would not be appearing on Dom’s Debrief and had both blocked Calarco’s phone number.
Responding to the announcement of Calarco’s new venture, Frazer said: “My issue is with the producers who chose to keep a violent individual on set and then has done nothing but promote that individual and as a result, encourage bullying and vitriol towards me, which was rehashed in yesterday’s promo.”
The online feud escalated when radio host and ex Bachelor contestant Abbie Chatfield waded in to defend Calarco in the comments section, calling her co-stars “jealous”.
Chatfield added, “they think that if they gang up on her and bully her online then they will get more attention … Just try and slay in your own lane, you know?”
Jessica Seracino and a number of other MAFS contestants denied the jealousy sentiment, adding that Calarco “verbally abused and bullied” her on the show. “You don’t know the half of it,” Seracino told Chatfield.
Calarco said that she’s currently taking a social media break, and leaning on friends and family for support as she explores legal action.
“I’m seeing what I can do in terms of sending them a cease and desist,” she said. “Because they really need to know that I’m being serious, and I am. I’m not going to back down.”
Adding that her co-stars have a “gang mentality” against her.
The infamous glass smashing incident from the series has been fully investigated by police, Calarco said.
“Police reviewed all the unedited footage and came to the resolution that it was not a violent act.
“So when Olivia continues to call me violent and abusive, she has no right. When is it going to end?”
“It’s not good for my mental health. I don’t think it’s something that I want to be constantly caught up in. It’s purely them defaming me. That’s all it is, pure and simple. If they think I’m joking, then let’s see if they can laugh when they have papers served to them.”
She added that last week’s events have “really affected” her, and that she’s grateful to still be on antidepressants.
