It is early days but Married At First Sight contestant Lauren Dunn is one of the most controversial figures this season. Confidential sat down with the reality star to talk Botox, online trolls and first impressions.

Married At First Sight contestant Lauren Dunn says she is not the villain of the latest season.

Conceding she comes across “a bit unhinged”, the publicist and marketing executive said she simply says things as she sees them.

“I was erratic and chaotic, I came across as a lot. I am prepared to be completely ripped to shreds,” Dunn told The Daily Telegraph of her first few episodes.

“I know I have a polarising personality just in general life, I am never afraid of sharing exactly what I am thinking. As the weeks unfold, you will get to see different sides of me. I am still a nutter the whole time but there are a lot of layers.”

Dunn’s name was trending on X (formerly Twitter) through her first episode on Sunday with viewers of the top rating show sharing their opinions on the controversial reality contestant – both good and bad.

There was much commentary on her drinking of alcohol, as well as the cosmetic enhancements she has had. Some likened her to a Reject Shop version of Jennifer Lawrence.

“I’m definitely not afraid of a bit of Botox or some filler,” she said. “I’ve been told at times I look like a stuffed pig with an apple in my mouth on TV – that has definitely been a topic of conversation so far.”

She continued: “After the first episode aired, I had a little squiz (at the commentary online) and promised myself I would never look again. The comments were absolutely brutal, ripping everything about my level of intelligence, the way I look, the way I act, that I drink too much, that I swear too much, everything you could think of.”

Dunn explained she knew what she was getting into though.

“I am very aware that people love to voice their opinions online, mainly the negative ones,” she said.

“At the end of the day, I think I have the thickest skin out of anyone I know and the only people’s opinions that I truly care about are my friends, my family and my work peers so what a person at home typing with a pencil says doesn’t really bother me.”

Dunn meanwhile would not be drawn on a breaking cheating scandal involving her MAFS groom Jonathan McCullough and another contestant.
