Luxe Listings’ Evan Williams stood down by The Rubenstein Group

Following revelations that he had been accused of assaulting his wife, Luxe Listings Evan Williams has been stood down by his employer after he became “verbally aggressive with fellow agents”.

Luxe Listings Sydney returns for Season 2!

Things have gone from bad to worse for celebrity eastern suburbs real estate agent Evan Williams, who has been suspended from The Rubenstein Group.

The Saturday Telegraph revealed that Williams had faced Waverley Court last week, where he pleaded not guilty to five counts of common assault, one count of intimidation and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, following an alleged tirade of abuse against his then-wife Kashaya Williams that spanned more than 15 years.

And today we can report the 38-year-old father of three has been stood down by TRG founder Gavin Rubenstein after he became “verbally aggressive” with fellow agents during a staff group photo shoot last week. It is believed Williams became frustrated at other agents who he accused of muscling in on his listings.

Sunday Confidential has approached Williams and Rubenstein for comment.

There was talk on Saturday that Williams had been permanently let go from the business, however Ray White group managing director Dan White wrote in a statement: “I’m away overseas at the moment so I haven’t spoken to anyone at TRG, but I haven’t heard of any change to the status of him being stood down.”

Williams’ photo was taken off the “team” page on the TRG website on Thursday night and Rubenstein no longer follows Williams on Instagram.

All Williams’ listings have been replaced with Rubenstein’s details.

Hit TV shows such as Luxe Listings and Million Dollar Listing show the competitive nature of the real estate industry and it seems those conflicts even take place off-camera. Insiders say Williams has a rivalry with the Cae Thomas and Jye Emdur (Larry Emdur’s son) sales team.

“He thought they were pinching what he thought were his listings,” one insider said.

“So that’s why Gavin moved pretty decisively. He won’t put up with that behaviour.”

Said another: “He became a bit deluded as to his status following his appearance on Luxe Listings.

“It will take masterful negotiations by Rubinstein to keep the small office workplace intact, so while Williams has only been suspended, it could become more permanent unless a satisfactory resolution is reached.”

Last year Williams described Rubinstein as his “business partner and fellow director, and a great friend”.

Williams had been recruited from the Ray White Double Bay office in August 2019.

The drama comes at the worst time for Rubinstein who takes his TRG agency away from the Ray White group from July 1, so will have to do some rebranding following the confrontation.
