KIIS host Jackie O Henderson breaks down on-air over childhood memory

KIIS radio host Jackie O Henderson cried on-air this morning before revealing an emotional childhood memory.

KIIS radio star Jackie O Henderson broke down on-air during Wednesday’s show after an old song triggered a bizarre childhood memory.

Henderson’s co-host Kyle Sandilands played Bette Midler’s rendition of Wind Beneath My Wings and she began sobbing and asked him to turn it off because the song reminds her of her mother Julie.

“Yeah I think of my mum, I went through a period where I was afraid she was going to die when I was young and I used to hear this song all the time and think about her,” Henderson said adding that her mother is alive and has never been sick.

Jackie O Henderson told co-host Kyle Sandilands the song Wind Beneath My Wings reminds her of her mum.

“I think it’s quite normal that you go through a period when you’re younger where you … start to realise that people die and you don’t want your parents dying.”

It comes after The Masked Singer judge was overcome with emotion during a recent chat with former Studio 10 co-host, Jessica Rowe.

Jackie-O was shocked when Kyle Sandilands was revealed as Rubble from Paw Patrol on The Masked Singer.

In October, Henderson, 46, marked three years since her split with husband of 18 years Lee Henderson and she said she misses some aspects of married life.

“I’d just love to sit at the dinner table with someone and have dinner, that’s what I yearn for and that’s the thing that I miss most about my old life … having that family time at the dinner table,” she on The Jess Rowe Big Talk Show podcast.

“So I don’t have that now and I think I will get that back, but as I said I want to wait, you know, a little bit longer. And then maybe down the track I will fall in love, that would be nice.”

Henderson and her ex-husband share a 10-year-old daughter Kitty.
