Kerri-Anne Kennerley has paid tribute to her mother, Grace, who has died at the age of 99.

The veteran TV host has been living with her mum for several years, taking to social media to remember the colourful character of a woman who loved to dance.

“This morning we lost our beautiful dancing queen, always elegant and graceful,” Kennerley, 67, wrote. “She is now up there dancing with dad and John. We will always love you Mum.”

Kennerley’s partner, John, died in 2019 after suffering a fall that left him paralysed.

The much loved television presenter regularly shared images and videos of her mother on social media, often dancing with family and friends at social gatherings.

For Mother’s Day last year, Kennerley posted a happy snap with her mother and sister, Jan.

“Mum has been through the depression, World War 2, gave a wonderful life to 4 kids and supported her devoted husband. At 98 her light still shines. Sending my love to the mums and motherly figures out there.”

Kennerley’s many celebrity friends commented on her tribute post, among them Megan Gale and Patti Newton, whose husband Bert earlier this month had his leg amputated in a lifesaving operation.

“So sad for you. Sending prayers and love,” Newton wrote, The Morning Show’s Kylie Gillies adding: “but what a full dance card she enjoyed. Sending love to you and your sis.”

Sally Obermeder wrote: “Oh KAK. I am so so sorry. Her light shined so bright. Sending you so much love.”

Kennerley has recently suffered her own health issues, breaking her collar bone after falling several metres from a trapeze in live stage musical, Pippin, in December.
