Maguire, from Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor and Woodgate, runner up on Sophie Monk’s season of the Bachelorette, were an unlikely coupling on this year’s island based reality TV show.
Despite obvious differences in their personalities, with Maguire gaining notoreity for being the villain and Woodgate earning “stage five clinger” status, the two fell for each other, finishing the season together and flaunting a happy romance many months after the show finished airing.
Maguire was regularly seen visiting Woodgate’s family vineyard at Gippsland, Victoria and the pair shared plenty of social media PDA.
Today Maguire took to Instagram to announce the split, stating “It is with a very sad heart but I have to let you all know that Jarrod & I have split up … I’m sorry if anyone is disappointed or if I have let anyone down. Please respect our privacy as this is a very hard time for me.”
The post was accompanied by heartbroken emojis.
Bachelor in Paradise produced three couples at the end of the show, including Maguire and Woodgate.
The first break up was Ali Oetjen and Grant Kemp, who did not make it to the completion of the show’s airing.
Gold Coast girl Tara Pavlovic and her ex-fiance Sam Cochrane endured a public break up last month.
The fourth potential couple, Gold Coast man Jake Ellis and his partner Megan Marx, who split on the show and got back together in real life, are ironically the only pair to remain together.
