BEAUTIFUL bridal wear will make a breathtaking finale to the David Jones autumn winter launch on Wednesday.
The glamour parade will take place inside St Mary’s Cathedral in Sydney, creating a romantic and atmospheric backdrop for the first ever bridal showing as part of a collections launch.
David Jones face Jessica Gomes will glide down the runway alongside special guest US supermodel Karlie Kloss and newly wed Jesinta Franklin.
“It’s nice playing dress-ups in wedding gowns. I think it’s going to be really romantic inside the cathedral,” Gomes says.
Gomes, who has been dating Aussie actor Xavier Samuel for several months, says she is a romantic at heart.
“I’m a traditional girl and I love the idea of marriage. I look forward to it one day,” she says.
The Twighlight Saga star will not get to see girlfriend Gomes dressed as a bride, he has retuned to LA for work, but her parents will sit front row. Gomes says this season’s launch is set to be bigger and more glamorous than ever with the inclusion of Victoria’s Secret model Kloss.
“I met her in passing in New York when I lived there. It’s awesome David Jones is having top international girls in their show. It’s great to be part of such a high calibre show,” she says.
Melbourne designer Toni Maticevski, who’s main ready-to-wear collection is stocked by Myer, is expected to be part of the bridal section of the show. Other designer labels include Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Karen Willis Holmes, Reem Acra and Self Portrait.
