Karlie Kloss may be the big name at the David Jones fashion parade, but it was Jess Gomes who turned the heads at the dress rehearsal this afternoon.
The 32-year-old confidently strutted the runway ahead of tonight’s Autumn/Winter launch sans bra in a black tuxedo and trousers.
In a stunning parade — featuring 496 outfits — Gomes was one of 46 models inside the clear glass-roofed marquee in the forecourt of St Mary’s Cathedral, in Sydney.
Boyfriend Xavier Samuel wasn’t there to cheer on the Eurasian beauty, but she has credited him with giving her extra confidence since they went public with their relationship in October last year.
Earlier she told Sydney Confidential: “I am really happy in my professional and personal life — it’s really great.”
And she refused to rule out the possibility of the pair tying the knot.
“I’m a traditional girl. If it’s supposed to happen it will happen but I’m not desperate. I was brought up Catholic and my parents have been together for 45 years so marriage is definitely not out of the question,” she added.
Vogue cover girl and Zoolander 2 star Kloss, of course, still looked jaw-dropping, alongside Victoria’s Secret model Bridget Malcolm and Australia’s hottest WAG Jesinta Franklin.
Gomes who first met the American Kloss a decade ago, was excited to be sharing the runway with her.
“I feel lucky that I‘ve been able to have such an amazing career and work with incredible girls like Karlie,” she said.
“I’m 32 and still walking the runway which is awesome. I love working with creative, driven, business-minded people so there’s no competitiveness, cattiness or fear.”
The retailer’s star-studded front-row is expected to include Lara Worthington, Justin Hemmes, Megan Blake Irwin and Adam Goodes.
