IT took 16 hours for David Jones ambassador Jesinta Franklin to bleach her locks blonde for tonight’s fashion extravaganza.
“It’s taken a long time. I had a nap at some point but I read all the magazines I needed to catch up on,” Franklin said.
After receiving a call from the retail giant last week asking her to go a little blonder, the 25-year-old Sydney model headed straight to her local boutique Koda Cutters in Bondi.
“I did two six hours sessions last week and another four hours on Saturday,” Franklin said.
In just a few hours, the former Miss Universe Australia will strut down the catwalk wearing the department store’s new summer trends, including frills, lace and ’80s sportswear.

She will be joined by Victoria’s Secret models Shanina Shaik and Bridget Malcolm, along with industry veterans, ’90s supermodels Emma Balfour and Anneliese Seubert.
Jesinta’s Sydney Swans player husband Buddy Franklin will sit front row alongside 330 guests, including Jordan Barrett, Teresa Palmer and Adam Goodes.
Franklin says because both she and her husband come from humble backgrounds, they appreciate success more than most — and work hard to maintain a balanced lifestyle.
“I had a humble upbringing and didn’t grow up with fancy things around me, so now I’m in this world I have to work extra hard,” she said.
“We feel like we share enough so people get a genuine sense of who we are, but there’s not much to know — that’s the funny thing, our lives are actually quite boring.”
