THEY publicly split in 2015 — now James Stewart has broken his silence about co-parenting with actor Jessica Marais before gushing about their five-year-old daughter Scout.
The Home and Away star, 42, who also appeared in Packed To The Rafters where he met Marais, has told TV Week his only child was the “love of my life.”
“She is my world — She’s the cutest thing I have ever seen,” he said.
“Time has flown by.”

An emotional Stewart, who split with Marais when Scout was three years old, said he could not believe that he and his ex were “already those parents standing at the school gate.”
“That’s a big thing. This is the first step of Scout’s independence, and it absolutely kills me. I have to put on a brave face,” he told the magazine.
“It’s an emotional time — You know what it is? It’s realising you can never always be there for them and that you just hope they make the right decisions in life.
“Right now, I’m making the right decisions for Scout. I’m doing everything for her — for example, if we’re at home and she grabs the wrong toothpaste or toothbrush, I’ll tell her.
“I know that sounds silly, but it’s that guidance bit I’ll miss. Now, it’s not mine so much — that’s the hardest part.
“Just like in the movie The Help, we tell Scout, ‘You’re kind, you’re smart, you’re important’.
“I just love that — that’s how Jess and I want our daughter to feel.”
The couple made headlines last February after they were spotted in a heated argument in the street.
It appeared that the tensions of co-parenting reached boiling point during a public tiff in Melbourne, at the time.
Throwing her hands in the air and scowling, Marais was visibly upset as she dropped Scout off to her former fiance.
But for now, things seem to have eased with Marais and Stewart sharing happy family photos on social media.
