Inside John Ibrahim’s biggest life change since Kings Cross

Once renowned for his partying ways, King of the Cross John Ibrahim has hosted an altogether different kind of birthday bash. See what happened, and who turned up.

EXCLUSIVE: Last King of The Cross

It looked more like the set of Finding Nemo than the Last King of the Cross – John Ibrahim is certainly living a different life these days.

The Sydney nightclub identity, who is the subject of a TV drama currently being filmed in Sydney’s west, hosted friends and family at his Dover Heights house to celebrate the first birthday of his young son, Elvis.

With fiancee Sarah Budge by his side, The Daily Telegraph has obtained happy snaps of the big day, showing off the ‘under the sea’ theme party that was held on Saturday.

Ibrahim has clearly ditched the red light district lifestyle of Kings Cross for candles and cupcakes, which in this instance had pictures of his son’s face on them.

Among the 80 guests were close family and friends, including Simon Main, Zena K’Dor, Beau and Kara Ryan, and Ibrahim’s elder son, Daniel.

Best mate Kyle Sandilands was unable to attend as he is ensconced with his new life as a first time father after the birth of his son, Otto, earlier this month.

A sushi chef was on hand with wagyu also served.

The images shared to social media show a colourful sea themed birthday cake with an octopus, puffer fish, a dolphin and starfish and the name Elvis in icing on the side.

Dozens of helium filled balloons featuring various sea creatures adored the room.

Child entertainers were on hand to do face painting while a magician was also there to entertain the kids.

The Last King of the Cross will star Lincoln Younes as Ibrahim and will tell the story of his life from Lebanese immigrant to infamous nightclub boss.

Ibrahim’s life has previously been detailed on the small screen as the main character in Underbelly: The Golden Mile.
