STATUESQUE star Elizabeth Debicki may have a string of Hollywood blockbusters about to hit the big screen, but she fears her soaring success could end any day.
Home in Australia for the premiere of Breath alongside Simon Baker, the French-born Melbourne-raised beauty said she constantly fears work could dry up.
“I perpetually think that I may never work again, I am so grateful everyday,” she said.
The star, who debuted in A Few Best Men but found fame as Jordan Baker in The Great Gatsby, said she felt liberated by the historic movement in the entertainment industry to empower women.
“It is a very interesting time for female-driven stories … there is a huge amount of momentum and also freedom that women are taking a breath for the first time, which is allowing them to say something they have not been able to say before,” she said.
“There is a huge relief and a huge amount of power, now that woman are allowed to ask for what they want and change what they need to change.”
