She may be married to one of the richest men in the U.S. but Miranda Kerr says she plans to raise her kids with the same old-fashioned approach to money that she grew up with in country Gunnedah.
The 36-year-old Aussie supermodel and mother-of-three, who has a son, Flynn, with ex Orlando Bloom and two kids to husband and Snapchat billionaire Evan Spiegel, is determined to keep her brood out of the infamous “rich kid” scene in the couple’s home city of Los Angeles.
That includes limiting toys to just ‘special occasions’, doing chores for pocket money and taking part in regular charity work.

It also means donating generously to charity, with Kerr and Spiegel – a tech wiz currently worth around $4.4 billion according to Forbes – quietly donating millions to the Australian bushfire effort earlier this year.
They also, without any fanfare, pledged $10 million to COVID-19 relief efforts.
“I grew up in a little country town. My parents bought the cheapest house and had to work their way up, and they really taught me the value of working hard and saving,” Kerr tells Australian InStyle.
“Whenever it’s Christmas or thanksgiving, we get together as a family and go to the local shelter and help pack boxes. We donate physically as a family as well as financially, and we think that’s important.”
Kerr also reveals that, despite the couple’s stratospheric wealth and their stunning $50 million Beverly Hills mansion – once owned by Harrison Ford – she only has one nanny to help assist with her three kids all aged under nine.
“I know every mother probably says the same thing, but my children mean everything to me, and I try to plan around their schedule. Everyone who works with me understands my children are my number one priority,” she says.
