Sydney society figure Ellie Aitken has made a return to the eastern suburbs social scene, three months after her public split from husband of 20 years and funds manager Charlie Aitken.
Confidential hears the former power couple have been spending more time together with their two children and Ms Aitken was in good spirits as she stepped out for two VIP events last week.
“Charlie is spending more time with Ellie and the kids,” an insider said.
“People really admire how gracious she has been throughout this ordeal. She’s doing much better and definitely has her groove back.”
Aitken looked radiant as she mingled with guests at the Art Gallery of NSW for the La Prairie Art Award 2022 presentation on Tuesday.
She was also among guests at Justin Hemmes’ Silver Party charity gala on Saturday night.
When asked whether she’s dating anyone new, a friend of Ms Aitken said, “She hasn’t been with anyone since Charlie”.
The Aitkens’ have been the subject of gossip pages in recent months after it was revealed that Mr Aitken had a five-month long affair with Ms Aitken’s best friend, Hollie Nasser, who is married to his former business partner, Chris Nasser.
Mr Aitken, 48, is the son of Perpetual Bank investment legend John Aitken and a former stockbroker.
The two couples were close friends for years prior to the affair scandal, which set tongues wagging in eastern suburbs social circles.
Ms Aitken, 42, resigned from her post as executive director of the couple’s investment business, Aitken Investment Management, but remains a director.
Mr Nasser also resigned from his position as a director at AIM.
Mr Aitken previously moved out of his Bondi marital home and in with Ms Nasser however it’s unclear whether the new couple are still together.
