Guy Sebastian to testify in court battle with Titus Day next week

Guy Sebastian will front court next week as his high-profile ex-agent Titus Day goes on trial for allegedly embezzling more than $1 million from the Aussie singer.

A high-profile court battle which will see one of Australia’s most famous musicians testify against one of the country’s top celebrity agents will kick off on Monday.

The scene is set for the clash between pop star Guy Sebastian and his agent and friend-turned-foe Titus Day, who is fighting numerous charges which include obtaining financial advantage by deception, and withholding funds from Sebastian between December 2013 and April 2020.

Day denies the charges.

In what’s been two years in the making, Day will head to the Downing Centre for the hearing which is expected to run for four weeks.

Sebastian, who currently features on The Voice and is in the midst of his T.R.U.T.H. tour, is expected to make an appearance for two weeks, where he will be cross-examined from the witness box.

Day, whose charges have been downgraded from fraud to larceny, is believed to be relieved that after two years and a hugely public arrest at his family home, the time has come for him to tell his side of the story.

His lawyer has previously spoken about the significant damage, the arrest has had on his client, financially and reputationally.

Day, a father of three, has denied the allegations since his arrest in 2020.

“Titus is preparing to come in all guns blazing in a bid to reclaim his reputation.,” a source told Confidential.

“He still isn’t over how the whole situation unfolded.”

Those close to Sebastian say he is focusing on his current T.R.U.T.H. tour and his appearance on Seven juggernaut, The Voice.

He will make his way to Sydney this week.
