GRANT Denyer has opened up about the tensions at his 2DayFM breakfast show.
A week after The Daily Telegraph reported that staff were fleeing the station due to co-host Em Rusciano’s diva antics, Denyer made the first official comments from inside 2DayFM about the situation.
“It try not to get involved in that at all, I turn up, bring my A game and try my hardest,” Denyer said.
“Em is handling the situation herself … I think you will have to talk to her about that.”
Denyer would not comment on reports that his co-hosts, Rusciano and Ed Kavalee, were not getting along with the pair allegedly not talking to one another off-air.
“(There are no tensions) not with me, I am good,” he said.
“We are three different personalities, we come at it from totally different angles. We are three strangers, who are still gelling.”
Denyer, who this week scored a Gold Logie nomination, said he was dedicated to make the show work.

“I want this to work, I am in it to win it,” he said.
“The last four (teams) have failed.
“I know it is no small task to take a show which has been at the bottom and turn it around, but I am up for the challenge.”
Tensions on the show have circulated in media circles for months.
Last week one source told The Daily Telegraph several people had left the show and others were looking for other work.

“Things are at breaking point, people just cannot work with her (Rusciano’s) energy. There have been … casualties at the hands of Em Rusciano,” the insider said.
The tensions have proved too much for some, with the insider saying: “The audio producer is now working on another show, the publicist is refusing to work with her and one of the producers has told the company that they are looking for other work. All of that on top of the previous host (Harley Breen) leaving.”
Breen left the show last November amid rumours of tensions between the pair. In March, he confirmed they would often sit in silence off-air but played down talk of animosity, saying, “I don’t really talk to a lot of people off air.”
Rusciano is yet to defend herself publicly. The radio station has turned down opportunities to comment.
