“It is just an unnatural thing for me to move my body in certain ways. Loosening up has been the hardest thing for me.
“I’ve always been pretty straight up and stiff, so getting into the groove has been a big thing.”
Burgess, a 26-year-old father of two, is one of seven celebrities set to perform a striptease that will screen as The All New Monty TV special later this year to raise awareness for men’s health issues.
Former Wiggle Sam Moran, AFL greats Robert “Dipper” DiPierdomenico and Brendan Fevola, actor John Wood, retired league star Lote Tuqiri and reality star Matty Johnson will also shed their kits in the Channel 7 special.
“I feel like I’m getting better, maybe this will be a career in the future,” Burgess, who has been taking acting classes, said.
“Acting is something I enjoy doing, so hopefully I can get some good experience now while I’m still playing,” he said.
“Hopefully it will be a career post-football. I’d like to have fun with it and make something out of it.”
