In what could be the making of Australia’s next celebrity power couple, Formula 1 ace Daniel Ricciardo and model Jessica Gomes are understood to have been discreetly seeing each other for several weeks.

In what could be the making of Australia’s next celebrity power couple, the pair are understood to have been discreetly seeing each other for several weeks.

Both Gomes and Ricciardo hail from Perth. They memorably smouldered together for a Herald Sun photoshoot in 2015.

While neither Gomes nor Ricciardo could be contacted yesterday, well-placed sources confirmed the pair were a turbocharged item.

Gomes, 34, is an F1 fan and drove in the celebrity challenge at the 2013 Australian Grand Prix and has lived in fashion’s fast lane for more than a decade.

The David Jones ambassador, who appeared in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue on six occasions, has previously dated actor Xavier Samuel, property developer Sebastian Drapac and Rugby Union player Rocky Elsom.

In August she was linked to Gus Wenner, the son of Rolling Stone co-founder Jann Wenner.

As one of Australia’s highest profile sportsmen, Ricciardo, 29, has been exceptionally talented at keeping this private life away from public glare.

He split with his long-term girlfriend Jemma Boskovich at the beginning of 2016 and was earlier this year linked to event manager Annemarie Horbass.

Ricciardo ended his relationship with the Red Bull F1 team and will make his debut for the Renault team at the 2019 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park in March.
