Hollywood star Ross Lynch’s take on steamy clip with Aussie superstar Troye Sivan

Hollywood star Ross Lynch has explained how he came to appear in a steamy video clip for Aussie star Troye Sivan.

Ross Lynch is hoping to hit the studio with Aussie superstar of the moment Troye Sivan after the American actor and singer appeared in his One Of Your Girls video clip.

“I feel like that is one of the more under rated parts of my career that kind of goes unnoticed, maybe because I probably should promote it a bit more,” Lynch, a former Disney star of Austin & Ally and Teen Beach Movie fame, told Confidential.

“I love the studio, I love to be playing the guitar, making drum loops, creating melodies, I really appreciate that process and I feel like I thrive in that process. I would love to collaborate with Troye, we have never spoken of it but that would be really fun, even if nothing comes of it, I like to just create. He is at the forefront (of pushing boundaries).”

A random last minute phone call from Sivan’s team led to Lynch jumping on a red eye flight from Los Angeles to New York to film the clip in which he appears shirtless.

Sivan has previously stated he wanted Lynch for the role as he represented “the dream guy” and “the internet’s boyfriend”.

“I was a fan of Troye’s already and the treatment won me over because of its uniqueness and the fact I had never seen a video like that,” Lynch explained, adding of being labelled a sex symbol: “I would like to take advantage of some of this attention and make something worthwhile that people can relate too beyond just the sex image thing, that would be ideal. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with it if I am honest – there is a part that is like, who cares, I am young and we are all having fun and it is great. So I have mixed feelings.”

Lynch will fly to Sydney to attend the 15th annual GQ Men of the Year Awards in association with BOSS on December 6 at Sydney’s iconic Bondi Beach Pavillion.

Other guests will include Abbey Lee, Sam Corlett, Dion Lee, Briggs, James Majoos, Robert Irwin and Nathan Cleary.

Lynch, 27, is known for his work in the group R5 and currently Driver Era with brother Rocky, the pair having recently released new single, Rumors.

On screen, his roles have ranged from diverse projects like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and My Friend Dahmer.

In the One Of Your Girls clip, Sivan meanwhile appears in drag with Lynch the love interest.

The song has been huge on TikTok with Hollywood comedian Amy Poehler even sharing a video of herself doing the social media dance to the song – attracting 3.4 million views for the clip in its own right.

Of their obvious chemistry, he said: “Honestly I would like to get to know him a little better, I feel like we could actually be genuine friends, for sure. He is a wonderful human being.”

Lynch has toured Australia many times and said he couldn’t refuse the invite to the GQ Men of the Year Awards.

“I love Australia,” he said. “It is hard to pass up an opportunity to go to Australia and just to attend a classy event there, it sounds like a great time. I will have a shirt on.”
