Former Bachelorette Georgia Love to host inaugural Walk for Hope
Within a matter of days, Georgia Love experienced the highest of highs when she found love on the Bachelorette with Lee Elliot, but that was followed by the lowest of lows when her mum passed away. Now she’s determined to find a cure.
Within a matter of days, Georgia Love experienced the highest of highs followed by the lowest of lows.
On the upside, her magical Bachelorette finale was aired, where she chose Lee Elliot, who she is still in a long-term relationship with.
But tragically, her mother Belinda was in hospital dying of pancreatic cancer, which she didn’t even know about until months prior.

Even though thinking of that time breaks Love’s heart, she is channelling it into trying to find a cure for her mother’s killer, partnering up with The Pancare Foundation and this Sunday hosting the inaugural Walk for Hope at Sydney Olympic Park.
“It’s incredibly hard,” Love told Confidential. “I always have to be talking about the battle my family went through, remembering watching mum go downhill.
“I can be sad but that won’t bring my mum back, I’d rather do something that contributes to making a change.”
Love’s mother was a healthy 60-year-old before she was diagnosed. She rapidly deteriorated — as many do with pancreatic cancer — which is why there is only a nine per cent survival rate.
Love has been a Pancare ambassador since then. Teaming up with the foundation was her way of raising awareness and hopefully funds for future research.
The silver lining amid the tragedy is that going through those tough days early in Love and Elliot’s relationship has clearly made them stronger.
There is no ring on the finger just yet, but three years into their relationship the announcement is imminent.
“We’re going really well,” Love gushed.
“We just came back from a big holiday in Africa, which we loved, and everyone was saying he was going to propose over there.
“I wasn’t expecting it because we were there for a wedding. “Everyone is busting to see the ring but I know we’re in a good place.”
The Pancare Walk For Hope takes place Sunday. More information is available from pancarewalkforhope.com.au.
