MAFS 2019 Episode 10 Recap: Truth & Treachery

They’re not engaged in real life, nor are they expecting their first child but there’s no doubting Cameron Merchant and Jules Robinson are head over heels in love.

And after waiting a month to have sex for the first time, the couple have sealed the deal on reality dating show Married At First Sight that has unknowns paired together at the altar to see if they will work as a couple.

“It was 29 days,” Robinson told Confidential with Merchant adding: “Not that anyone was counting.”

The couple made the revelation to experts on Tuesday night’s episode.

“I felt really awkward telling the experts we’d done it,” Robinson explained.

“It felt a bit juvenile and silly but it is I guess respecting the experiment and being honest about every move that we make. It was awkward but we did try and use the experiment to its full potential.”

Robinson, 36, and Merchant, 35, are the standout success of the series.

While other couples have been embroiled in ugly fights over anything from plastic surgery to public displays of affection, orgies and being insensitive, they’ve even come up with a word to describe their “sickening” connection.

“We definitely were the strongest couple in the experiment,” Robinson said.

“Mushland city. We are emotionally intelligent people so we say it, we feel it and we show it. It is over the top but that is what happens when you are in love. I have got a lot of love to give and I am glad to have found someone who appreciates that.”

Of ongoing rumours about their relationship, Merchant said: “Jules is having quadruplets as well. No, not really. And we are not engaged in real life yet.”

The fan favourites of the show have begun to talk about their future together.

They are however already talking about marriage and having children together.

“Being at the age that we are, you don’t waste your time or your energy or your feelings with someone you can’t see a future with,” Robinson said.

“If I didn’t have that connection with Cam I would have left week one.”

Merchant, a former professional cricketer, said: “I definitely want kids too. I love them.”

As a quirky aside, Merchant spoke about an accident at the age of 13 that means one leg is shorter than the other.

“I played rugby and I snapped my right leg and broke my growth plate,” he said.

“Funnily enough when I started recovering, my whole right side didn’t grow and it stunted my growth.”
