The online trolls were out in force over a recent Instagram video from Sydney pilates instructor Bernadette Fahey.
The brains behind Bondi’s Body by Berner studio, followers were quick to comment on Fahey’s ‘fake tan’ as she instructed a client preparing for their wedding day.
“No fake tan was harmed in the making of this video,” one follower wrote, another adding: “Why is she covered in shoe polish?”
Fahey’s caption on the video to her 53,000 followers read: “Bride in training … tan marinating”.
She credited Paddington’s Beach St Beauty Bar for her tanned skin with the video attracting hundreds of comments.
“What in the Bondi Sands,” another follower wrote.
Another ventured that it was “some sort of Kath and Kim p*** take skit”.
An added source of commentary was the fact Fahey used a long stick to train her client.
“Don’t think my clients will appreciate me teaching them with a stick,” one wrote.
Another added: “The stick is necessary to stop tan-to-client transfusion.”
Berner did not appear to respond to any of the commentary, with the exception of one follower asking where she got her “so pretty and comfortable” outfit.
“It’s so old … the only loose item that is acceptable to wear fake tan and teach,” the Body by Berner account wrote.
Fahey’s clients include influencer Rey Vakili, models Sarah Stephens and Madeleine Holtznagel, and socialite Deborah Symond-O’Neil.
She previously lived in New York where she worked in fashion PR for several years before starting her own studio.
