Meeting seven-year-old Oliver Jepson put life into perspective for chart topping Aussie artist, Amy Shark.

Jepson is undergoing treatment for a brain tumour, and his family lost their home in the devastating Lismore floods.

Today, they are based at Ronald McDonald House in Westmead as Oli undergoes treatment.

“Honestly, it was incredibly emotional, it really puts things into perspective,” Shark said of meeting Oli and his family.

“Oli has treatment every single day, he has two little sisters so his parents definitely have a lot on their plate.

“Oli is so young and he is dealing with so much, but he spent the whole morning with a big smile on his face. He is truly amazing and I am so grateful to have met him.”

Shark is one of several ambassadors for this year’s McHappy Day, which will be held across Australia on November 18, and raises funds for Ronald McDonald House charities.

Other celebrities involved in this year’s McHappy Day, with McHappy Time kicking off officially on Wednesday, include Dylan Alcott, Josh Kennedy and Isaac Heeney.

Australian Idol judge Shark on Wednesday took part in a panel discussion at South by Southwest Sydney at which she announced a new global radio show with Apple Music in celebration of Australian Music Month.

The show, Feeding Time Radio, will feature well-known local artists to emerging acts and launches on Friday.

“It’s surreal to think that just a few years ago, I was an Apple Music Up Next artist and a guest on Elton John’s radio show, Rocket Hour, discussing my debut album,” Shark said. “Now, I have my own Apple Music radio show which I hope will give homegrown artists the same platform that I had.”
