ELYSE Knowles will get back to basics over summer before deciding her next career move.

The Block winner and her partner Josh Barker sold their own renovated home at the weekend and are planning a camping getaway to round out a successful year.

“We’ve gone from two houses to none,’’ Knowles said.

“We’ll go camping before starting a new chapter of our lives. We’ll look for another reno, an ugly duckling, where we can showcase our ideas but there’s no plans for us, we’re pretty open-ended.

“You dream to be this busy and it’s gone to a whole new level. We’ll head up north in January and get back to basics. It’s our favourite time of the year to head off and refresh and have fun.

“You have to stop and work out what you want to put time into.”

Knowles and Barker sold their Elsternwick house on The Block last month to comedian Dave Hughes for $3.067 million. On Saturday, their Coburg home sold for $1.631 million.

The model got into the Christmas spirit yesterday, taking her dog Isla to meet Santa for a “pawtrait” at David Jones, Bourke St Mall.

“These pictures are the things you keep forever,’’ she said. “I always call her my first child and we’re going to give all our family one of these for Christmas.”
