Deb and dad John Symond are at home co-hosting parties again

After John Symond’s divorce to wife Amber, daughter Deborah and her dad – who was named Father of the Year in 2012 – are once again co-hosting events at at his palatial $200m Point Piper home

Aussie Home Loans founder John Symond and his daughter Deborah were once known for co-hosting lavish parties and charity events at his palatial $200m Point Piper home.

But when his wife Amber came along, the gatherings became less frequent. One rumoured reason for this is Deborah and Amber’s strained and often frosty relationship during the couple’s 12-year romance.

“It is no secret Amber and Deborah’s relationship was tumultuous,” one insider said. “And this meant that Deborah socialised less with her father.”

But after John and Amber divorced in 2023, Deborah and her dad – who was named Father of the Year in 2012 – are once again co-hosting events at “Wingadal”.

Just last week, Symond opened his doors for a Cartier event with his daughter, who shared snaps to her Instagram site.

It comes as we can reveal Deb also no longer stocks her ex-stepmum’s Common Hours brand on her Mode Sportif e-tail site.

“Amber broke her dad’s heart and she knows that,” the insider said.
