Chef Gordon Ramsay to bring his three Michelin-starred restaurant to Aria, Sydney

Another international chef is set to briefly call Sydney home.
Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay, arguably the most famous chef in the world, is teaming up with Matt Moran to bringing the three Michelin-starred restaurant which bears his name — Restaurant Gordon Ramsay — to Aria for three nights in May.
It is the first time the London venue has done a residency, outside of the UK.
The two chefs are firm friends, and Ramsay’s chef patron at his UK restaurant, Matt Abé. actually got his start in the industry as a 17-year-old in Moran’s Aria.
The $495, seven-course menu will comprise of signature Restaurant Gordon Ramsay dishes like shellfish ravioli and pecan praline dessert, but will substitute the ingredients with Australian produce.
This compares to the Menu Prestige for two at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay, which costs approximately AU $760 pp at the Chelsea restaurant.
In a statement, the Kitchen Nightmares chef said “Collaborating with my dear friend Matt Moran, and talented chef patron, Matt Abé at Aria, with its magnificent views across Sydney Harbour, and creating a menu that uses Australia’s incredible local produce while delivering the finesse of our 3-star Michelin menu, is a dream come true.”
This is the third international residency to be announced in Sydney in the past month, with The Gantry hosting Mirazur and The Bather’s Pavilion hosting L’Enclume.
International chef Marco Pierre White will also be in Sydney in May to give a series of live talks.
Ramsay is also in Australia to film his new TV series, Future Food Stars. The show is an Apprentice-style reality television series which sees 12 entrepreneurs compete to win an investment to start a food business.
