SEVEN’S new kids’ talent show Little Big Shots looks set to be the next big thing in TV, debuting to virtually identical figures as ratings behemoth Australian Ninja Warrior.

The Shane Jacobson-fronted show, which sees kids aged three to 13 showcase their talents on stage, launched to 1.67 million metro viewers on Sunday, just shy of Ninja Warrior’s 1.68 million launch episode back in July.

The result proves Seven made the right decision to temporarily shelve the program almost two months ago to avoid it going head-to-head with Ninja Warrior.

Seven director of programming Angus Ross had said it was “not smart play” to make families choose between them.

Mediaweek editor James Manning said the young kids can be the key to ratings success as they can often be big influencers on what a family sits down to watch each night.
