WORKING with kids, it’s always best to expect the unexpected.
Take Nikita Leskovec, for example, who entered Seven’s new talent series Little Big Shots to show off her hidden skill ... galloping like a horse.
This may not be the kind of display you’d see on other song and dance shows, but praising kids with unique abilities – whether that be sporting prowess, an incredible
mind or just a hobby – is exactly why this format was created.
“It’s a celebration of kids. There are no judges and there is no judgment,” says host Shane Jacobson.
The series is a TV and online sensation in the US, where it was created by talk show queen, Ellen DeGeneres and is hosted by Steve Harvey.
And Jacobson sees why – he loves the show’s inclusive nature. “It’s any kid with any ability,” he says.
“It might be a talent, a hobby, a quirk, a thing they can do which other kids can’t. It’s kids just doing what they love.”
So, if put to the test, what can Jacobson do that would set him apart?
“I can wobble my eyes really fast, unbelievably fast ... but I don’t think that’s enough to get me on television,” he laughs.
* Little Big Shots airs 7pm, Sunday on Seven.
