Roosters great Braith Anasta has said he was not getting involved in ex-wife Jodi’s exhaustion leave from work, focusing instead on caring for their daughter and his charity work.

Anasta would not be drawn on his wife of three years’ taking time out from Neighbours, citing exhaustion as the problem, saying his way of helping was taking care of their five-year-old daughter Aleeia.

“It’s up to her (Jodi) to look after herself,” he told Confidential.

“I don’t get involved with her personal life.

“I look after Aleeia and whatever Jodi’s got to do she’s got to do. I’ve got my own family to worry about.

“As long as Aleeia is taken care of, that’s all that matters.”

Anasta said instead he was pouring his time and energy into looking after his full house, which includes wife Rachel and their daughter Gigi, his stepson Addison, daughter Aleeia and breast cancer survivor mother Kim.

To show his support for women, Anasta is an ambassador for Priceline’s Misterhood for the Sisterhood alongside cricket legend Merv Hughes, former AFL players Dermott Brereton, Tony Modra, Glen Jakovich and former NRL player Billy Moore.

Together the men will embark on a six-week fundraising campaign to reach their goal of $1.5 million for women’s charities including Children First Foundation, Dementia Australia, Look Good Feel Better, Panda and Raise.

“I’m surrounded by women, I respect them a lot and any way I can help I will,” Anasta said.

“I want my two daughters to grow up into beautiful strong women.

“If the men are supporting the women and helping in every way they possibly can to make women feel better about themselves it can make life a lot better.

“More men have got to have respect and put their hand up and try to help women.”
